trainee to developer

My Story

Hi. I’m David Huba.

In early 2018 I was recruited by CED at the UCF Spring Career Expo. It was there that I met my future Training Manager/PC Manager Mike Burkart and I was introduced to the CED Business Model.

As an entrepreneurship focused Management major, CED’s emphasis on localized decision-making seemed like the perfect fit. And for the next four and a half years it was! In 2020, my Division Manager Mike Shapiro informed me I’d be placed at PC 8425 in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

My first year was spent greatly focused on staff and putting the right systems in place. When I was comfortable with the work I had done in those areas, I turned my attention to marketing.

Through that process it was then that I realized where my passion truly lies. While I believe I proved myself as a capable manager at CED, it became clear to me that I enjoyed the marketing aspect of the job much more than the management side of things. I am a creative person by nature and putting together the Profit Center’s logo and designing our business cards etc. was when I felt most “in the zone.”

As any PC manager very well knows, it is a demanding job, especially when you’re just starting out at your new PC. An opportunity to take a sabbatical in Alaska presented itself so I took it and now I’m back in Florida – doing what I love and working with a company I admire, in a capacity I feel is best suited to my abilities.

Mission

I strongly believe that one of my greatest competitive advantages as a web developer is my full confidence that CED is the best in the business at what it does. That makes my mission to effectively communicate CED’s value proposition to the electrical contracting market that much easier, because I’ve seen the value CED brings and experienced it first-hand at job sites and behind the counter.

In keeping with that mission I aim to create a website unique to your profit center because I’ve been to many of them and I know that no two PC’s are the same. I want to work with you to get a sense of how you go to market and develop a strategy to find the best way we can go about conveying that message to said market, thereby increasing your marketshare and your profit sharing.

So,
